Day 43, Pacific Sojourn, May 29, Satuiatua rest day.
Our last rest day of the trip. We started the day with a pancake and fruit breakfast before heading out on a walk to a shop down the road to get food for lunch. Although not everything revolves around food, we still have to eat! We were too late for any bread so we made do with biscuits, peanuts and fruit.
Walking back we took a detour up some steps behind the village leading to the primary school and some nice views across the bay. Our route back took us past the freshwater pool so we stopped for a dip. Refreshing! Gordon tells me cold water immersion is good for dopamine release but I prefer the balmy waters of the lagoon!
After lunch it was high tide so the Reef was calling. We did two drifts today, walking to the top of the beach and drifting back over the reef. No turtles today but still so many fish. They look a lot like the ones we had for dinner the other night too!
