Day 42, Pacific Sojourn, May 28, 37km, Falealupo to Satuiatua.
We headed out the door at 9 and pulled in to Satuiatua just on midday. Perfect timing for snorkeling at high tide. The ride was nice but sunny today so quite warm. The first part is sandy track winding its way through coconut groves at the very farthest end of Savaii. Lovely gentle riding before a climb out of the cape leading to an undulating road the winds along the coast line. Today was Sunday so very little traffic and the pleasure of listening to the singing as we rode past the multiple churches along the route. Parts of the coast have no Reef so the waves come thundering in directly onto cliffs and rocky coves. The first real Reef section is here at Satuiatua where you can walk along the beach and then drift back over the coral.
The Reef is excellent with 100s of fish and I managed to sneak up on a Turtle as well. It was busy digging around in the coral and didn't see me for at least a minute. Once it saw me it scarpered away very quickly but so cool to see it doing its thing.

Dinner was slightly late due to a medical issue with one of the guests staying here. We don't know what was going on but she looked pretty crook and they whisked her off to hospital. We suspect heat stroke or dehydration as she was younger rather than older. Hope she's OK anyway.
