Days 32 - 34, Pacific Sojourn,  May 18 - 20, more trail finding and an expedition

Thursday Lulu and I went for an exploration up behind Outdoor Samoa. We are trying to recreate a single track loop that starts and finishes at the centre that has got lost over Covid. We had great success and have managed to find the connecting track. We now just have to take the bikes through to confirm it is rideable. This will enable us to create a ride that doesn't need to touch onto the main coast road but will visit some lovely wee villages and follow some lovely single track.

Yesterday we headed off on a training expedition. We had to drop some kayaks off at the Turtle Kayak put in so Lulu and I decided to take a couple of e bikes and ride back via the Giant Clams. Lulu's third son Joe came with us. Lulu has not been snorkeling before so I thought it was a great opportunity to teach her how. This means she can also guide this trip as well if need be. She did great and really nailed the snorkeling.  I even made her swim back without her life jacket. Given that she didn't even know how a life jacket worked until a couple of weeks ago I think we are making great progress with her confidence. She loved the snorkeling! I'm not sure she liked the 40km on the e bike quite so much! A fun day out though. The funniest part was trying to convince the bloke collecting the customary fee for visiting the clams that I was the guide not Lulu!

Today was a little quieter with one group arriving back off the ferry and another heading off on a freedom ride. We are now starting to get our own gear ready for heading off on Tuesday. We are looking forward to a break to be fair. It's been a full on few weeks! The above adventures don't cover off the requirement to frequently be in two places at once with trips coming and going, kayak trips each day as well as cyclists. And the busy season is only just starting! Ross is back Monday so we can hand over happy with a job well done.
