Days 11 and 12, Pacific Sojourn, April27 and 28, revisiting the clams, 44km.
After our return from Savaii, we had a busy day prepping for tours coming in at the weekend before a swim in the lagoon, dinner and bed so not much to report.
Today though, we got up early and jumped on a couple of e bikes to head down to the clams for some snorkeling. This is a 44km round trip with a 200m high climb at the far end and back the same way. This was Gordon's first trip to the clams and we both enjoyed the snorkeling. I even saw a Turtle today which was pretty cool. It had about 10 wee fish hanging onto its shell as it paddled around.

The bikes we took out were Outdoor Samoa's brand new stock e bikes and we tested both comfort and range. We can say they are very comfortable bikes and handled the 44km along with the very steep hill with ease. The other nice thing is with a steady pace, you get a breeze to keep you cool both uphill and downhill!
The afternoon was spent doing chores, checking e bike batteries and trying to stay cool. This involves either swimming in the lagoon or a cold shower and trying to catch any breeze that is around. Temperatures are in the early 30s most days but it is also between 90 and 100% humidity most of the time which makes it super hot. We are dripping with sweat most of the time!
