Day 145, November 28, 35km and 161m climb, Salton Sea State Park campground to the Fountain of Youth RV park.
A relatively short day today so we had a bit of a sleep in. The ride took us right along the Salton Sea and started out really well. Then the wind picked up a little and we found ourselves groveling into a head wind! Such is life on a bike!
It was pretty desolate along most of the route sitting at minus 55 below sea level (very weird) until we started to head inland a little along Mineral Spa road which had some nice connotations. Sure enough, we've pulled into none other than the Fountain of Youth RV Park and Spa. We have very high hopes for our stay here!

The Park has a grocery shop, cafe, laundry, gym, games room, activities calendar, beautiful bathrooms adjacent to our tent site and a range of biking and hiking trails to explore. We will spend at least a couple of days here if not longer. Our route back to San Diego will take us back up over 1500m and the forecast is looking average for the next week at least. We are in no rush and a few days regaining our youth could be well spent!
