Day 109, October 23rd, Glenwood Springs to Moab
We woke to rain, sleet and a wee bit of snow. The loos were a good 200m away so we drove down to perform our morning ablutions before driving back to our site for breakfast between snow showers.
We were keen to get to Moab so eventually headed off mid morning into the rain. The first part of the drive was pretty ordinary along the Interstate. After crossing into Utah we turned off onto highway 128 which took us the back way into Moab along the Colorado River. The views were amazing and with the rain and snow we watched the river change from brown to red the further into the gorge we went. We turned off at one point to head up toward a viewpoint but turned around at a flooded stream rather than risk it. The van was having fun sliding around in the mud anyway! All we could think of was how glad we were not to be on the bikes!

Once in Moab we found a camping spot up at Slick Rock mtb trail and parked up. The weather cleared for a while so went for a walk along the trail to Echo Gorge before hurrying back before the next snow shower came through! Right now the whole of slick rock has turned white with snow while we are again tucked up warm inside the van! Of course at some point we will have to brave the elements to go to the loo but at least it's not 200m away!
