Day 94, October 8th, 47.47km and 816m climb, Informal campsite Lynx Pass to Radium River Access campsite
Today was quite a hard day. We finished off the climb over Lynx Pass which was lovely and then thought we'd stop at the USFS campground and brew a coffee and fill up with water. Surprise, surprise the campground was closed although their website said it was still open.

Oh well, we continued on and eventually found a lovely wee spot for a water top up and some early lunch. We also dried out the tent after another frosty night. The weather was nice and we continued to climb up the next hill which took us back up to 2700m. From here we knew there were some undulations and they turned out to be those ones that are short but sharp! Steep and gravel. We even had to walk one and I am pleased to report that my new shoes were excellent. Having tread helps!

Finally we got to the top of the last wee hill and dropped down into Radium. No convenience store as marked on the map but there was a campground which is right on the Colorado River. We had to pop up the road for some water as we weren't enthusiastic about the Colorado River water so took some from a tributary.
We were just prepping dinner when two Irish riders arrived. Katie and Owen are traveling fast and light but enjoying the journey. Fun to compare notes. They are off to Silverthorne tomorrow which will take us another three days! We will make it to Kremmling and check the weather before we choose dirt or tar seal.
