Day 82, September 26th, rest day in Pinedale

We had a relatively quiet day in Pinedale but there were a few chores to get done. After three months daily use on already well-loved equipment, a few things needed replacement and there is an excellent outdoor shop in Pinedale. My silk sleeping bag liner has been repaired twice and developed another hole so it was time for a replacement.  A new Sea to Summit Thermolite liner should work well. My Sea to Summit stuff sack for my Spark II sleeping bag has also given up the ghost so a new one is now in place. Finally it was time to say farewell to my good old reliable polypropylene glove liners that have become more hole than glove.

So after spending a bunch of cash on goodies, it was then time to stock up on food for the next 6 days. Because of the low water sources, we have ditched the cereal and are going to have more dry options including breakfast/Cliff bars for breakfast and Wraps and Refried beans for dinner. We'll see how that goes.

Some of you are aware of my love for American cinnamon buns. At our Warmshowers hosts it was an opportune time to satisfy my craving. I purchased two different varieties and prepared them for dessert. We then did a taste off between the two to determine which were better. The Rhodes frozen option was the winner while the pop can ones came in second. Gotta love those pop cans though! Great fun was had by all and it was a fun way to round off our second evening with our hosts. Sorry about the ice cream and apricot option, Fisher!
