Day 57, September 1st, 67.2km and 1060m climb, the Llama Ranch to Helena Warmshowers
This morning was a pleasant riding temperature with a wee downhill from the Llama Ranch before we started the first of three climbs today. The climbing today although more than yesterday was nowhere near as steep and we were able to relatively comfortably ride all three hills as we moved into mining country. We crossed the Divide twice today (5th and 6th crossings) but we got a bit confused about which side we were on at times! Ultimately we ended up on the Atlantic side, exiting the crossing onto the highway into Helena. Think 12 miles of sealed, downhill with a tail wind - bliss after 3 days of lumpy gravel!

In Helena we had a few chores to tick off. First stop was the bike shop where a replacement Revelate Sweetroll for my front handlebars had arrived. The original had pulled off two attachment points so they have replaced it with a new one. I also picked up some new gloves and we got some spare brake pads, chain lube and electrolyte tablets. Next stop was the mobile shop where I picked up a sim card for the USA. Useful as I can now make phonecalls!
From here it was up to our warmshowers host where we have been treated to a lovely dinner of salmon with vegetables from the garden followed by ice cream and blueberries. We have been very spoilt!
