Day 41, more beautiful single track

Day 41, 16 August, 24.7km and 421m climb, Stealth camp to Fernie.

Today we finished off the single track to Fernie in time for lunch. Another solid ride with a couple of big climbs and many undulations although none as hard as yesterday. It's a great trail and we will be sad to finish it tomorrow.

No more bears today but plenty of very fresh scat and some big claw prints in the dust so we made plenty of noise through that section!

On reaching Fernie we enjoyed bagels from the very good bagel shop and managed to do some successful shopping including a new sleeping mat for me. Yay! Hopefully no sleeping on the ground for me tonight! We posted the old mat home and will try and sort out the leak when we are back. I think it might be a warranty job as despite submerging it in a bath tub, the only thing leaking was the valve.

We are at a very expensive RV park tonight but have managed to do a load of washing, had endless free hot showers and are recharging electronics on our site. The toilets near the tent sites are also proper flush ones which is rare in Canadian campsites it seems! You should see the RVs here, we reckon at least $10million worth (Canadian $ that is!).
