Day 2 An interesting day!

Today was an interesting day! It started out really well with a fabulous breakfast put together by our Warmshowers hosts Jeanne and Gaith. Gaith also helped me load some base maps onto my Garmin which I struggled to do back home. Thanks Gaith! Warmshowers is a reciprocal hosting arrangement for cyclists. We have been hosts for a while in New Zealand and are now staying with hosts where we can. It's a great system and all done for free. Anyway, back to the ride.

While the Trans Canada Trail is done really well, unfortunately there are some closed bits that are not clear until you get there. And then you have to turn around and climb back up the really excellent single track you just rode down! Then you have to take a detour on a really busy road with no verge until you find the trail again which might or might not also be closed due to flooding so you have to turn around again and go back to the really busy road again.

Still, we were ultimately saved by the timely appearance of an air-conditioned Tim Hortons restaurant where we recovered before making our way to the quirky wee campsite we are at tonight. They have given us the rec room to sleep in as we are the only ones here and it's air-conditioned.  Odd wee place though as they only allow cyclists to camp while the rest of the campground is full of permanent RVs. You know the type of place...still, they are very friendly and welcoming. We might even stay 2 nights.
