Day 3, Pacific Sojourn, April 19, Mulifanua, Upolu, Samoa

A gentle walk to start the day exploring the villages along the road. Piglets, chickens, dogs, churches, people, fales, and lagoon. Very pretty although the school and work traffic was a bit hectic right at the time I was out so may need to adjust that.

After breakfast, it was down to work. We are helping out at Outdoor Samoa for a few weeks 'woofing'. Gordon immediately hit the ground running by assembling 4 ebikes and I started orientating to the business side of things learning about the tours and what bookings are coming up. Lulu runs the office and has her finger on the pulse so between us we put all the tours up on the whiteboard to work out the logistics for the next two weeks. There is a lot involved! We grabbed a couple of the newly assembled ebikes at morning tea and headed off to the Savaii ferry to try and make a booking. The temp has been around 30 degrees all day with 91% humidity so the breeze on the bikes was refreshing.

After lunch it was back to the ferry to finalize the booking. This time in the van with the air conditioning which was nice. Somehow the day disappeared and it was time for a swim in the lagoon. Also very refreshing and a nice temperature for just floating around.

A last minute booking this afternoon for the Turtle Kayak day trip tomorrow so Gordon and I will head off as the guide hasn't yet got his drivers license and one of us needs to drive!

Samoa is located at 13 degrees south, north of the Tropic of Capricorn. Anything north of the Tropic of Capricorn is considered to be in the tropics. So Samoa is truly in the tropics and feels like it! Lush rain forest surrounds us along with coconut, guava, pawpaw, avocado, mango, and numerous other edible fruits growing in abundance. It's just stunning..
