Day 77, September 21st, 40.1km and 311m climb, Colter Bay to Turpin Meadow campsite
Today was almost like a rest day! 40km of tar sealed road with beautiful views of the Tetons (if we turned around at least), stunning autumnal colours everywhere we looked and lunch at a cafe! What more could you want on a day out on the bikes!

It was late when we got going as we needed to do a resupply at the supermarket as we will be 4 nights off grid, fortunately the forecast rain stayed away until just as we pulled into camp when the first drops arrived. We stopped at a very expensive Cafe along the way and had a decent meal meaning bagels and cheese for dinner tonight. Both meals were yummy so we are not complaining.
On arrival at camp we set up the tent between raindrops and were just climbing in when Brian introduced himself. He is here with his 3 horses and offered us the horse trailer to sleep in out of the rain. It didn't take long for us to agree to the suggestion so we dismantled the dry tent and put everything in the horse trailer including our bikes. It wasn't long before the heavens fully opened and the thunder and lightening arrived. We did wonder briefly about the wisdom of a metal box in a thunderstorm but were very pleased to be out of the rain. It is forecast to rain all night and into tomorrow but yet again we have escaped being wet! Thanks Brian!
We've had a lovely evening with Brian who is a retired police investigator with some incredible stories, as you can imagine. Another kind and generous person we have met on our journey.
