Day 53, August 28th, 47.44km and 564m climb, Big Larch campground Seeley Lake to Ovando jailhouse
Today was a much quieter day with only two relatively small climbs, a long lunch break and an afternoon enjoying Ovando.
The ride took us past some lovely wee lakes and some more forest before returning us to civilization in Ovando. Ovando is a tiny wee town that has gone out of its way to cater to cyclists. For $5 you can stay in a teepee, a wagon, the church, the jailhouse or your own tent. We chose the jailhouse! The general store has one of everything and the Blackfoot Angler fishing shop has everything the general store doesn't. There is a cafe and just up the road a bar and grill where we had one of our very few nights out. Burgers and fries for dinner!

Just as we were coming into town, two cyclists from Belgium caught us up so they joined us for dinner. Our French Canadian companions also joined us making for a fun evening in a real US bar! Read noisy patrons dressed in cowboy boots. All good fun!

Day 54, rest day in Ovando!
