Day 131, just a short day today.

Day 131, November 14th, 22.7km and 677m climb, Ma Tar Awa campsite to Oakzanita Springs

Ok, so we just did a half day today but boy was it fun! Straight into a 400m vertical climb up a dirt road over 9km. Gradient was good so knocked it off pretty quickly. We then descended into a wee village where we stopped at the mercantile for coffee and hot chocolate in the sun. From here we rode into the Cuyamaca Rancho State Park on some more lovely single track. Only a couple of hike a bike sections but otherwise nice riding with a bit of sand and a bit of rock to keep things interesting.

We'd kicked off the morning around 8am and just before 12 we were outside a nice looking RV park so we stopped in to see if we could use some wifi and decided to stay.  So this afternoon we have had lunch, a soak in the hot tub, a shower, read some books and are now sitting in front of the fire in the lounge. We think we'll keep going tomorrow but it's awfully tempting to stay! There is some wind in the forecast for Wednesday so we will likely push on tomorrow to see if we can hunker down for a day or so further up the ride.
